The Speech That No Republican Could Have Made

Blistering. Scathing. Brutal yet with a distinct ringing of truth.
Thats how Zell's speech came out and it was a barnburner of historical proportions. What it did best was to turn the criticisms of Bush ("divider", not a "uniter") back onto the Democratic party. And while much (but not enough) has been made of the fact that a Dem gave the Republican keynote, the subtle message throughout the convention has been that fair-minded Democrats (Silver, Koch, Miller, etc) realize this election is too important to fall back on politics. A real leader is needed to see us through these dangerous times.

And they dont think Kerry is up to the task.
