How To Lose An Election - By John Kerry

This is a bad approach to take.

He will not win by denying the gains made by the Bush administration. Cries of failure in Iraq and Afghanistan are easily refuted by pointing out the new era of freedom in those countries. Worse still, it paints Kerry as a pessimistic defeatist. Everyone already knows that there have been bumps and detours on our road to win the war on terror. We dont need to hear is reflexively contrarian position on everything Bush does.
Saying he "would have done almost everything differently" reaks of Monday Morning Quarterbacking and 20/20 hindsight.

He wins this election by acknowledging the victories Bush has made and the importance of the leadership he showed following 9/11. He wins by convincing people that he's the man to finish what Bush started. He's the man to renew broken relationships. He's the man to rebuild bridges burned during Bush's tenure.
He loses this election by trying to be manlier than Bush. He loses this election by try to out-cowboy Bush. He loses this election by wasting time windsurfing and snowboarding. He loses this election by continuing down this path he has chosen.
